🎦 005

Something about the harmony of pink and grey in Black Swan (2010)… Frankly I’m too lazy to look it up—whether it was intentional, whether it symbolizes anything, etc. I’m not here to make up theories either. The way those two colors played along with each other pleased me.

Today we got here because I was browsing through film stills on my laptop. I watched Black Swan on Saturday, May 25 2024 and my Letterboxd review was “me if i never stood on business”. Wait I just wanted to point out the movie’s delicious color palette but as I write I’m beginning to sense the urge slash responsibility to explain my review as well as my weird, weird relationship with ballet and performance!! In general. And also the dangers of committing with disregard to your capacity yet somehow it’s quite shameful to admit how much (how little) amplitude you’ve actually got but it’s all on you anyway! Because commitment and ambition and effort is very much celebrated, you’re the only person who knows your own measurements, and… who knows what else I’m trying to say. Like a wrong puzzle piece trying to squish in. Although it can kinda fit it’s like… girl the sides are gonna get torn and dented and the paint will come off idk. Nina died anyway.
